---BACKSTORY---
Nick is 17 years old and he lives in Hoboken, New Jersey (Originally Schaumburg...it's too close to home). His LiveJournal currently takes place in March of 1995. So, it may be written on LiveJournal but try to imagine it as writing/reading the journal of a seventeen-year-old from the suburbs in 1995.
Nick recently broke up with a girl named Karen. Karen went out with him because he bought her stuff and then broke up with him when he got too serious. She immediately latched onto one of Nicks friends, Ron. She is constantly tormenting Nick in different ways just because she doesn't like him. But he doesn't seem to realize this because Karen was the only relationship that Nick has had in his entire life. Nick thinks this is how things go, so he is constantly pining for Karen and how he can win her back but his efforts always prove to be excerises in futility. He never realizes that there are other girls in the world.
Nick's parents are pretty normal, but he doesn't come from much money. His father isn't around much because his two, blue-collar jobs require him to be gone most of the time. Nicks mother is a mild alcoholic but not violent, just depressed. The family makes their dues and still have money left over for some things but they are behind most of the families in their community.
Nick is in high school. He doesn't have many friends but he's not missing out on the different teenage experiences that most of us do. To most, other than his friends, he's basically invisible. Just an average blender inner. His grades suck because he has a procrastination problem and he also can't seem to get a job. He has been applying to many places but no one wants some kid with long, shaggy hair working for them. He resorts to selling his stuff at pawn shops and taking money from his rich friend, Danny.
Nick's best friend is Cassandra. Cassandra is basically his "When Harry Met Sally Factor". Everythig he wants right in front of him but he is blinded by Karen.
Nick has long, shaggy hair. He is about 5'8". Somewhat skinny. He loves music.
